Als ich das erste Mal in Neuseeland aus dem Flugzeug stieg, wusste ich nicht so recht, was mich erwarten w\u00fcrde. Ich wusste nur, dass ich f\u00fcr eine Weile entfliehen musste - der Hektik, dem L\u00e4rm, dem unerbittlichen Lauf der Zeit. Schon in den ersten Tagen sp\u00fcrte ich, dass die Zeit hier anders verging. Es war, als ob die B\u00e4ume mir zufl\u00fcsterten, ich solle langsamer gehen, als ob der Wind Worte trug, die ich noch nicht verstand, die mir aber irgendwie vertraut vorkamen.<\/p>

Eines Morgens, als ich um den Lake Taupo wanderte, traf ich einen \u00e4lteren Mann - einen M\u0101ori namens Rangi. Er sa\u00df unter einem riesigen Pohutukawa-Baum und blickte auf das stille Wasser. Er l\u00e4chelte und deutete mir, mich zu ihm zu setzen. Er sagte nicht viel, aber seine Anwesenheit strahlte eine Kraft aus, die ich in meinem Leben schon lange nicht mehr gesp\u00fcrt hatte.
\"Hier h\u00f6ren wir auf das Land\".<\/strong> sagte er leise. \"Du gehst nicht wie ein Tourist auf ihr. Wenn du dein Herz \u00f6ffnest, wird es dich f\u00fchren.\"<\/strong><\/p>

Ich blieb ein paar Tage bei Rangi. Er lehrte mich, den Gesang der V\u00f6gel zu erkennen, Heilpflanzen zu sammeln, die Geschichten zu sp\u00fcren, die im Fluss, in den Steinen und im Nebel verborgen sind. Aber vor allem lehrte er mich, wieder in mir selbst still zu werden. Und in dieser Stille h\u00f6rte ich meine eigene Stimme - die Stimme, die ich im L\u00e4rm der Welt verloren hatte.
Als ich ging, \u00fcberreichte mir Rangi einen kleinen Stein - glatt, gr\u00fcn und mit dem Blatt eines Baumes graviert, der in der M\u0101ori-Kultur f\u00fcr seine Kraft, Heilung und Schutzwirkung bekannt ist...
